What did the Groundhog see?

Groundhog Day!

We started off February learning about Groundhog day.  Yes, the groundhog saw his shadow and ran back in the hole.  It is official: 6 more weeks of Winter!!!  The kids enjoyed making their own groundhog out of a banana, raisins, fruit snacks, M&M's and oriental noodles.  These snacks gave an interesting combination of flavors!!!

Making a Cozy Blanket

The Sharks used their fine motor skills with Ms. Sharon in making cozy blankets for their beds.  As you can see, the boys are excited about their accomplishment!

Arctic Animal

We finished the month of January with a week on Arctic Animals.  We talked about polar bears, seals, penguins and many more.  For Fun Food Friday, we made a penguin out of OREO's, M&M's, and candy corn.  The kids had fun breaking the OREO's apart!

Winter & Snow

It is feeling like Winter time around ABC!!!  The children have tried to catch snow, watch ice melt and enjoyed hot chocolate.

OT Time

Ms. Sharon always brings in the best activities related to our themes!!!  This week, the Fish group enjoyed catching snow during OT.  Then, they made an adorable snowman!!!

 Science Time!

During Science, the Sharks learned about how salt can melt ice.  It was cool watching all the lines in the ice from the blue coloring.

Fun Food Friday Time!

When you think of Winter time, you always think of hot chocolate.  The little chefs helped make the hot chocolate mix and put marshmallows on top!!  Yum yum!!!!

2013 Holiday Program!!

The students were really excited this year about our songs for the Holiday program.  But sometimes they get a little bit nervous when all the parents come in.  So we got to video tape them at their 'best' during a practice session.

Christmas Time!!!

It is Christmas time around ABC!!!!  The children have enjoyed several activities and lessons with the Holiday theme.  The first two Fun Food Fridays we made Reindeer feed and Chocolate dipped OREOS with sprinkles!!!

AwShucks Field Trip

Farmers for the Day

The students enjoyed their 1st field trip this year to Awshucks Farm.  They were officially farmers for the day.  To start our day, we planted corn!

and then we played!!!

Our hard working Farmers finished off their week with a huge Farmer's Breakfast!

We enjoyed sausage, eggs, bacon, and orange juice.
