Fall

Leaves are changing, it is starting to get cooler and their are whispers about seeing Halloween costumes at the stores.  We are in FALL!

The first week of Fall, we made leaves this week.  The children cut the leaves out of cookie dough and picked their own color of sprinkles.

The second week of Fall, we made a tree out of a round cracker, cream cheese spread, peppers, and a pretzel stick for the trunk.

Show & Tell

Acorns, leaves, pumpkins, and Fall candles!!!  We love Fall!!!

The last week for our Fall theme, we talked about "Squirrels and Acorns".  The children especially loved making this fun little acorn treat out of donut holes, caramel sauce, a pretzel stick and sprinkles.  YUMMY!!!!

More Apples

Apples, Apples, Apples!!!  We have had so much fun with apples, we had to carry on the theme for two weeks!

For Fun Food Friday, we gave each child a slice of red, yellow and green apples.  Then, we gave them caramel, chocolate, and marshmallow creme dip.  The children loved trying all three dips on their apples!!!

Show & Tell

The children brought in some well thought out and planned Show & Tell items this week.  

Poem of the Week

Every week, the K/1 group learns a poem related to the theme.

OT Fun

Ms. Sharon always brings in some fun during our learning time.  The children used their bodies to make the letter A for apple.

Apples Apples Apples

Nothing brings in the season of Fall more than APPLES!!!  We have had so much fun with the Apple theme this week.  We have made apple patterns, colored apples with numbers, learned many facts about apples and Johnny Appleseed.

We made Apple Crisps this week.  The children loved making this 3-step recipe.  We loved that they were trying a combination of textures and flavors!!!

Back to School

Today I hurry off to school,
To work and learn and play
I'm in a brand new grade this year.
What a happy day!!!!!

The children have enjoyed getting to know each other over the last couple weeks with the 'Back to School' and 'Friends & Family' theme.

During the 1st week, we made a pencil for Fun Food Friday.

During the 2nd week, we made a Friendship Salad.  Each family brought in an ingredient for the salad.  The children really enjoyed the assortment of tastes!!

What a Wonderful Year...

What a wonderful year 2013-14 has been at ABC School!  We have seen so many changes with our kids.  We have some that will be moving on and will forever be in our hearts and some that we will be blessed to have another year.  Here are a few more pics from our year...

Fields of Strawberries

Each year, ABC takes the children on a field trip to a Strawberry farm in May.  We had so much fun this year.  The weather was delightful and the fields were plentiful!
